In a 5-4 decision(scary), the Supreme Court Of the United States ruled that the Second Amendment to the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution also applies to the states, and to local governments. Another good decision by SCOTUS along the lines of Heller. The case brought before the court was McDonald vs Chicago, the plaintiff is a man by the name of Otis McDonald, who challenged the City of Chicago's 30-year ban on handguns because he wanted to have a pistol in his home to defend himself against gangs in his neighborhood. Several amicus curiae (friend of the court) briefs were filed in this case, most notably from Senators Kay Bailey Hutchinson (R, Texas), John Tester (D, Montana), and Representatives Mark Souder (R, Indiana) and Mike Ross (D, Arkansas). 58 Senators and 251 Representatives signed the brief, the most of any amicus curiae brief in U.S. history. I'm hoping that this a sign that The Supreme Court and Congress may finally be adhering to the Constitution, rather than some cobbled-together set of "laws" based on early 20th Century Progressivism and European/Marxist doctrine.
The Marxist media cannot get it right. General McChrystal resigned! He was not fired by Obama! He offered his resignation at the beginning of the meeting with President Dumbo BigEars...oops Obama. GET IT RIGHT YOU MEDIA HACKS!!!!!!
GOD BLESS YOU GENERAL McCHRYSTAL!!!!!
God bless you General Stanley McChrystal, God bless you for telling it like it is! The only sad part is you had to lose your job to do it. Keep it up General, keep telling the truth about this sad sack of shit we have as president. We need a man like you in the White House, General. I hope you will consider a run for the Presidency in 2012.
To all you left wing Marxist, Progressive idiots out there who mischaracterized what Sarah Palin said about "seeing Russia from her house" here's what she really said: "They're our next-door neighbors
and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska --from an island in Alaska."
"Alaska has a very narrow maritime border between a foreign country, Russia,
and on our other side the land boundary that we have with Canada....
It certainly enhances my foreign policy credentials.
It is very important when you consider even national security issues with Russia.
As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where do they go?
It's Alaska. It is just right over the border.
It is from Alaska that we send those out to make sure
that an eye is being kept on this very powerful nation, Russia,
because they are right there, next to our state."
In 2007, Missouri placed on the ballot a proposed constitutional amendment designating English as the Official language of Missouri. Nearly 90% voting in favor! English became the official language for ALL governmental proceeding in Missouri. It also means no individual has the right to demand government services in a language OTHER than English.
In 2008 a measure was passed that requires our Highway Patrol and other law enforcement officials to verify the immigration status of any person arrested, and inform federal authorities if the person is found to be here illegally. It allows Missouri law enforcement offices to receive training to enforce federal immigration laws. The bill makes it clear that illegal immigrants will NOT have access to taxpayers benefits such as food stamps and health care through Missouri HealthNET.
In 2009 a measure was passed that ensures Missouri's public institutions of higher education do NOT award financial aid to individuals who are here illegally. The law also requires all post-secondary institutions of higher education to annually certify to the Missouri Dept. of Higher Education that they have NOT knowingly awarded financial aid to students who are unlawfully present in the United States.
So while arizona has made national news for its new law, it is important to remember Missouri has been proactive in addressing this growing problem.
Missouri has sent a clear message that illegal immigrants are NOT welcome in our state and they are certainly NOT welcome to receive public benefits at the cost of Missouri taxpayers!

"I wanted to give you all some disturbing information on our wonderful president. I work with the Catch-A-Dream Foundation which provides hunting and fishing trips to children with life-threatening illnesses. This past weekend we had our annual banquet / fundraiser event in Starkville . "As a part of our program, we had scheduled Sgt. 1st Class Greg Stube, a highly decorated U.S. Army Green Beret and inspirational speaker who was severely injured while deployed overseas and didn't have much of a chance for survival to come. Greg is stationed at Ft. Bragg , NC and received permission from his commanding officer to come speak at our function. Everything was on go until Obama made a policy that NO U.S. SERVICEMAN CAN SPEAK AT ANY FAITH-BASED PUBLIC EVENTS ANYMORE. Needless to say, Greg had to cancel his speaking event with us. Didn't know if anyone else was aware of this new policy. Wonder what kind of news we all will receive next. You're just starting to see the Obamanation. Your religion is on the list next. I don't know about you, but this makes me furious.
What a rotten thing to do by the "commander-in-chief". And I'm afraid we ain't seen nothin' yet.
Whenever government becomes destructive of these ends (life, liberty, pursuit of happiness), it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute a new government. Declaration of Independence of the American Colonies, 1776
I'm just a guy who believes in the premises of the Founding Fathers and Freedom for all who says what's on his mind. I also like running PA systems with an emphasis on fidelity and sound quality rather than out and out volume. I'm also a student of history, the Constitution, and a World War II buff. I also like horror movies, Halloween, Night Of The Living Dead, etc., war movies, and comedies. Music; 70s and 80s classic rock/heavy metal, some new stuff, oldies 50s 60s, some country.
