Now They Blame Guns for the Fort Hood Terrorist Attack

I was wondering how long it would take Chuck Schumer, Richard J. Daley, Jr, and all the other gun control wackos to start blaming guns, the Second Amendment, and the NRA for the terrorist attack on Fort Hood.
As someone who owns guns (and by the way knows how to use them and is proud of the fact that I know how to use them) I know from personal experience that guns cannot load, aim, or fire themselves. Guns are an inanimate object that can do no harm to anyone unless a human being picks one up loads it, aims it, and squeezes the trigger. Nidal Malik Hassan is the one responsible for the terrorist attack on Fort Hood, not the NRA, the Second Amendment, Smith&Wesson, Colt, Glock, Ruger, etc. But one could also lay the blame at the feet of an increasingly politically correct military/political structure in this country. None of the soldiers at Fort Hood were armed, obviously. If they would have been, Hassan would not have gotten anywhere near as far as he did. It took a civilian federal police officer, Sergeant Mark Todd, to eventually bring the terrorist down. Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't we at war? And when at war, aren't U.S. soldiers supposed to be armed and ready for any contingency?  Even in CONUS? (CONtinental United States for those of you in San Francisco) Oh wait, I forgot guns kill people and military personnel can't be trusted with firearms, because (gasp) they might have the temerity to defend themselves and their fellow soldiers from a terrorist attack with said weapons. I realize the military has to be regulated, but that should only be as far as their dealings with the civilian population (Posse Comitatus). But when you're in their territory, they have every right, no a duty to defend themselves, their fellow soldiers, and any civilian on that post by any means necessary. If I visited a military post and saw armed soldiers and Military Police, I would feel not threatened but safe and secure knowing that if anyone tried to attack me while on that post they wouldn't get too far. Because I know they're American soldiers, not some gang of Communist Red Guards or Nazi Stormtroopers. I would trust my life to an American soldier, Marine, airman, or sailor before any politician, especially a politician with an anti-gun axe to grind like Chuckie Schumer.

FUCK DIVERSITY!!!!

And that says it all. My apologies to General George Casey, who stated "What happened at Fort Hood was a tragedy, but I believe it would be an even greater tragedy if our diversity becomes a casualty here." We have a very diverse society. And that give us all our strength" but you're wrong sir. Diversity is not our strength and never has been. It is our gravest weakness as a country. Assimilation is our strength, at least it used to be until those on the wrong side of the culture debate in this country found themselves in positions of power and decided for the rest of us that diversity and political correctness are what America is all about. And now such un-American bacteria has infected our military. My apologies General Casey, but you're wrong. I seriously think that diversity, politcal correctness, and multiculturalism are going to be the downfall of our once-great nation. All the politically correct multi-cultural birds are coming home to roost. And things are apt to get very messy when large a large amount of birds are involved.

Major Hassan had contact with an imam in Middle East, according to ABC News. The imam's name is Anwar al Awlaki who served as an imam at a mosque in Falls Church, VA and now lives in Yemen. In a blog posting earlier today (Monday) Awlaki proclaimed that Hassan, "did the right thing", was a "hero" and a "man of conscience who could not bear living the contradiction of being a Moslem and serving in an army that is fighting against his own people." 'His own people?' I thought this man was born and raised in the United States. His own people would be the men and women he served with in the United States Army.

It has been said that Nidal Malik Hasan shouted "Allah Hu Akbar!" before he started his shooting rampage that eventually killed 13 people and wounded 31. If he did indeed say that, why isn't this being referred to as a terror attack? Is it because our illustrious president doesn't have the courage to call a spade a spade?  Is it because the perpetrator isn't affiliated with Al Qaeda, Hamas, or any other terror organization? Or is it, I fear, that we are so cowed by political correctness that wer're deathly afraid to call the bloodshed at Fort Hood what it really is; a terrorist attack? It would seem the armed forces of the United States should look a little closer into the backgrounds of their officers, especially their Moslem officers. But oh wait, I forgot that's profiling! We can't do that because of the P.C. Gestapo!

Fort Hood Massacre

A military psychiatrist opened fire at the U.S. Army's Soldier Readiness Center Fort Hood near Killeen, Texas killing 12 and wounding  31. The name of the shooter is Nidal Malik Hassan, a Major in the United States Army who had been transferred to Fort Hood from Walter Reed Army Hospital this past July. He was a graduate of Virginia Tech where he was an ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) member. He earned a Bachelor's degree in biochemistry in 1997, then went on to receive his medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences Bethesda, MD in 2001. He started his internship and finished his residency  at Walter Reed Army Medical Center Washington, D.C. Major Hassan was due to be shipped overseas for deployment to either Iraq or Afghanistan. Two other soldiers were also taken into custody and later released. According to Fort Hood spokesman Christopher Haug they were not involved in the shooting rampage. Hassan, 39 years old, was born in Virginia and is single with no children. At this time he is said to be alive and is expected to survive. Nidal Malik Hassan was born in Arlington, VA on September 8, 1970 to parents who emigrated to the U.S. from the West Bank.
Fort Hood was opened in September of 1942, named for General John B. Hood.

Another Writer's Block

I've really been having a hell of a writer's block lately. I can't think of a damn thing to write about. I've thought about writing some historical pieces and parlaying them into a modern context, but I can't think of how to do it without it looking hokey. I just wanted everybody who takes the time to read this stupid blog to know that I'm still alive and partially well. I hope I can think of something to write about soon
